My Third Lesson

Guess what readers, Well, I was accepted today. I’m getting my uniform in the next lesson, it’s so expensive, but it’s probably worth it, I don’t want to be the odd one out again.
Anyway, today I tried my hardest just like you. As in, hard and strong punches.

And today you will find out about MISTAKES.

So now I am a white belt as of next week, and hopefully you will be too.  Remember to practice in your lessons and don’t be afraid to make a mistake, no one cares about your mistakes! They only care about their own mistakes. Get it? You only care about YOUR mistakes, you don’t care whether Lily or Benjamin punched with the wrong hand. You only care if you made a mistake. Why should anyone be any DIFFERENT?

Only care about what you should be doing better, not how bad your mistakes were or if anyone was watching. You should also remember that if you don’t make any mistakes, there is nothing to learn. And don’t try to make mistakes! Do your best every time. It’s good if you do it perfectly the first time, just don’t make yourself crazy if it’s not and NEVER think that if you don’t do it perfectly all the time that you aren’t a good student.

So remember that EVERYONE makes mistakes (even the sensei makes mistakes sometimes).

One Response to My Third Lesson

  1. Zachary says:

Brilliant. Reminds me of one of Sensei Marty’s sayings, “Be confident in your mistakes.”

If you punch with the wrong hand, make sure it’s a good, strong punch. If you kick with the wrong foot, make sure it’s a good, fast kick.

He also says “Fake it ’till you make it” which means the same thing, except it rhymes.
