How to be motivated

In this day and age, it is all too easy to lose motivation and take the easy route out. But is that truly what will get you to your rewards? Is that what will help you achieve your black belt?

No.

“If it was easy, everyone would do it”

Show the world that you are that minority who CAN do it. Despite the pressures of daily life, the put-downs of others, or the self-doubt. Turn to that self-doubt and tell them that you can.

How to be Motivated

Here are some suggestions for motivation to practice, stay with it, and PERSEVERE.

1. Remember why you are there. (Is it to learn the ancient arts? Be the best? Protect yourself? Personal interest?)

2. Write it down.
Keeping your goals on paper, or in front of your desk or perhaps next to your bed when you get up will motivate you to do your best and DO IT!

3. Make a plan
Writing down an action plan increases your chances of doing it. Creating a plan along with someone else increases it even more!

4. Reminders. Daily.
Remind yourself why you are doing it. Write some of your favourite inspirational quotes on paper and stick them around your room to keep you motivated.
Some of my favourites include:
“Feel the fear and do it anyway”
“Dreams don’t work unless you do”

5. Take breaks.
If you stay with something constantly, 24/7, you may grow tired of it. It is important to maintain constant effort in order to achieve your goals, but continuous work will burn you out and lessen your chances of achieving them. So always remember: Everything in MODERATION.

So that’s the summary.

“Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t, you are right”
